Get ready to drink some lemonade and fall crazy in love as Beyoncé’s longtime publicist addresses the Class of 2019.
Yvette Noel-Schure, co-founder and executive vice president of Schure Media Group, will also receive an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters during Saint Peter’s 128th commencement ceremony at the PNC Bank Arts Center on May 20, the university announced on Wednesday.
A former journalist, Noel-Schure joined forces with Columbia Records in 1993 and worked her way up as the department head for media, handling press for every music genre.
In 2010, she opened Schure Media Group, a publicity and event-planning agency, and signed “Queen Bey” as her first artist.
During her more than two decades working in the music industry, Noel-Schure has represented iconic pop performers such as John Legend, Leann Rimes, Chloe x Halle, Prince and Mariah Carey.
She also developed media launches for Maxwell’s “BLACKsummers’ night” and Beyoncé’s “I AM…SASHA FIERCE,” as well as the singer’s global tours.
Noel-Schure often gives back to her home country of Grenada by working with the United Nations on World Humanitarian Day in 2012 and 2013, and Gucci’s Chime For Change to improve and protect the education, health and justice for women and girls.
She was also named a tourism ambassador for Grenada.
“Noel-Schure’s background, professional trajectory, entrepreneurial spirit and distinguished
achievements make her the ideal role model for our students and the perfect fit to address the
Class of 2019,” President Eugene J. Cornacchia, Ph.D., said in a university statement.
