Bryan Felt, Saint Peter’s University Athletic Director, announced Marc Mitchell as the eighth head coach of the women’s basketball program on Monday. Mitchell’s first official media press conference took place on Wednesday, March 28 in the Victor R. Yanitelli, S.J. Recreational Life Center.

“I’m so excited to be here,” Mitchell said. “It’s a humbling experience. It’s an honor to become a Division I women’s basketball coach.”

Mitchell has won six straight conference championships and qualified for six straight NCAA tournaments during his time with Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham women’s basketball team.

Mitchell achieved his greatest season during 2013-14 when the Devils put up a 33-0 record and won the NCAA Division III national championship. This was the first national title in FDU-Florham history and the Devils were the first NCAA Division III women’s basketball champions from New Jersey.

“I look forward to being here,” Mitchell said. “I look forward to working hard.”

Aside from his team accomplishments, Mitchell is also a four-time Freedom Conference Coach of the year, D3 News Coach of the Year, WBCA Coach of the Year and All-MET Coach of the Year.
